Honda
MIT (Material in Transit) Gatehouse - Marysville, Ohio
Osborn was commissioned by Honda to design a new Security Gatehouse including the rerouting of the approach roadways to allow for monitoring and inspection of material transports entering and leaving the Honda of Marysville complex.
Architecturally the concept was to provide an aesthetic design to compliment the look of other Honda complex. Operational requirements included the integration of a communication and security systems center, transport inspection elements, offices and a restroom. The facility was designed to satisfy the Homeland Security agenda required by Honda.
Our creative optimization of the site design allowed us to eliminate the need for a grade wall, separating the retention pond and the roadway. The elimination of the grade wall produced a significant savings and allowed us to lower the overall project costs. Our design included the complete civil package including rerouting of the roadways, grading and the routing of utilities to service the new gatehouse.
