Injection Molding Facility Design - Vienna
Delphi's new 210,000 square foot $58.5 million injection molding facility in Vienna, Ohio was designed from concept to a state-of-the-art facility. The high tech facility incorporates automated guided vehicles managing finished parts flow, 130,000 lineal feet of aluminum tubing automatically transferring 150 different plastic resins to 120 plastic mold machines all within a fully climate controlled manufacturing environment. The clean modern architecture of the offices and plant's exterior and interiors serves as proof that manufacturing facilities need not be an eyesore. Evidence of Delphi's satisfaction with the facility is displayed by their proudly using the plant as a showcase to attract customers. As impressive as this is the true highlight of the project was the intensity of the schedule, going from a challenging wooded site to operation in just 17 months.
