Osborn Architects and Engineers is currently working on a prototypical ballpark for a minor league baseball team for a city in Northeast Ohio. The facility would be used by multiple stakeholders (e.g., high schools and colleges) with the minor league team being the primary stakeholder.
The facility includes seating for 4,000 spectators, a press box, two suites, two team clubhouses, concessions, restrooms and support spaces. The main concourse (at grade) would offer ample space for amenities such as picnic areas, kids’ games and more. There would be two grass berm areas for spectators along the outfield edge.
The ballpark architecture has an historicist aesthetic that harks back to the roots of baseball venues. The proposed site, along an interstate highway, will showcase the ballpark and become the “gateway” into the city.
