New Field House & Athletic Center

Columbus Academy | Gahanna , Ohio
OSPORTS provided full architectural and engineering design services for athletic facility renovations at Columbus Academy. The project included a new 24,000 SF field house for basketball, volleyball, baseball, golf, hockey and rock climbing training and a 3,000 SF renovation and addition to the existing weight room to provide a new athletic training room and strength and conditioning area. The project also included a new 4,200 SF locker room addition and renovations to the existing teams, pool, and P.E. locker rooms. The project included the demolition of the existing facilities and maintenance building and the construction of a new 5,000 SF facilities building. The design and materials for the expansion match the current buildings on campus.

The project was necessitated by the increased participation rate in athletics at the school that was taxing the existing support spaces including practice areas, locker facilities and training areas. The project included many stakeholders on the Schools side that required coordination including administration, coaches, P.E. staff, and Facilities department.
