New JFK High School Track and Field
Cleveland Metropolitan School District | Cleveland , Ohio
Osborn Engineering/OSPORTS are providing full architectural and engineering services for the new track and field complex at the recently constructed JFK High School and City Recreation Center. This new facility replaces the former Roye Kidd Field, located 1.5 miles away, and marks the first phase of CMSD’s redevelopment plan for the area.
The scope includes an eight-lane, 400-meter polyurethane track, a 160’ x 360’ synthetic turf field, dedicated areas for field events (shot put, discus, long jump, and high jump), and site improvements such as stormwater management infrastructure. A new 1,000-seat bleacher system with a press box is also included as an add alternate. All athletic elements are being designed in compliance with NFHS and OHSAA standards.
OSPORTS is working with several MBE partners throughout the design process, including G&T Associates (survey), Pro Geotech (geotechnical investigations), and Regency Construction Services (cost estimating). The team will also coordinate permitting efforts with local authorities, particularly for stormwater management. Where feasible, the under-drainage and stone base system will be designed to provide underground detention to meet post-construction stormwater BMP requirements.
Upon completion of design and permitting, OSPORTS will support CMSD through the bidding and construction administration phases until project closeout.
