Osborn Engineering is providing mechanical, plumbing and fire protection design services for two pump stations at Great Lakes Water Association. Mechanical design includes space heating, pump room ventilation to accommodate four 600 HP motors, and electrical room, office, and control room air conditioning and ventilation. Plumbing design services are being provided for a restroom, pump room trench drains, and process hose bibbs. Fire Protection design services are also included in this contract.
The Mechanical systems included, and all other building and process components, are based on the GLWA “Best in Class” Pump Station design criteria, which have been developed to address specific pump station capabilities and features requested by GLWA. These design criteria include items based on energy efficiency, reliability, maintainability, staff safety, and operational flexibility.
