Auto Repair Service Center

AAA | Columbus , OH
Osborn Engineering performed Site Civil, Structural, and MEP Engineering services for a new 9,000 SF facility for AAA. The project included the redevelopment of an existing property (approximately 1.5 acres) located along Grandview Avenue. The new AAA facility improvements required significant infrastructure including pavement improvements and required coordination with city departments for on-site and right-of-way improvements. The redeveloped property included an abandoned underground tunnel that was originally used to transport material from a nearby quarry. The Civil Engineering documents were prepared to utilize the underground tunnel originally constructed in concrete for underground stormwater detention. This had not been performed in the Columbus area and required many coordination meetings with the City of Columbus for their review and approval to meet City of Columbus Storm Water Design Requirements. The building improvements included demolition of the existing facility except for the original garage area with bowstring trusses. The Structural and MEP scope included an approximate 920 SF addition and 3,700 SF addition to the main garage requiring lintels and beams for new openings, replacement of the floor slab, and addressing current settlement issues. This project was completed in conjunction with m+a architects.
