St. John Cathedral Capital Improvements

Catholic Diocese of Cleveland | Cleveland , Ohio
Osborn Engineering is providing Lighting Design, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Technology, and Fire Protection engineering services for various capital improvements to the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist. This historic sanctuary was built around 1852 and these various improvements will enhance the electrical power distribution, sound, and fire alarm systems, as well as ventilation, dehumidification, heating, and interior and exterior light remodeling. The exterior lighting design focused on bringing a balance of naturalistic soft lighting of the façade and a dramatic highlighting of the bell tower with state-of-the-art color changing LED. Osborn will continue its partnership with the sanctuary by providing Lighting Design services for the interior. The interior lighting design will focus on enhancing the focal points of the sanctuary’s architectural design to provide its attendees more immersive and meaningful services. Furthermore, these enhancements include dimming controls for increased flexibility and adjustments to the lighting control system for the illumination for various types of ceremonies, such as weddings, baptisms, or funerals.
