Luke Easter Park & Lowe Field

City of Cleveland | Cleveland , Ohio
All-Star Field at Luke Easter Park | OSPORTS + Osborn provided Architectural and Civil engineering design services for the design build project in conjunction with The Motz Group for the new All-Star Field at Luke Easter Park in Cleveland, Ohio. The project was built as part of the Major League Baseball’s “Play Ball” and “All-Star Legacy” project initiatives ahead of the 2019 Major League All-Star Game and festivities. The scope of work entailed a full removal of existing natural grass baseball field, fencing and dugout structures. OSPORTS + Osborn designed a new field drainage system, backstop, dugouts, bullpens, perimeter fencing and field striping plan for the new facility. As part of the local stormwater requirements, the new field’s drainage system was designed to act as a detention system to limit the amount of runoff into existing storm sewers. The existing site was also noted to have shallow bedrock across the entirety of the field area though geotechnical investigations which had to be designed around for all new construction.

Loew Park | OSPORTS + Osborn provided Civil, Architectural, Electrical and Structural design services for the $2M upgrades to City of Cleveland’s Loew Park. Alongside design-build partner Astroturf, the project team designed a 100,000 SF multipurpose athletic field to host soccer, football, softball and baseball games for the City of Cleveland’s youth recreational programs. The field was designed with an emphasis on player safety, as the new turf system includes shock attenuation padding to minimize head impact injuries and concussions. New improvements outside the field of play include new dugouts, backstop, scoreboard, 750-seat bleacher and press box structure, perimeter landscape berms, lawn seating and entry plaza.
