Veterinary Medical Center Commissioning

The Ohio State University | Columbus , Ohio
Osborn Engineering provided LEED® fundamental (EA pr 1) and enhanced commissioning (EA c3) services to The Ohio State University (OSU) for the Veterinary Medical Center enhancement and expansion.  This $30 million project will be completed in two phases to create new clinical spaces, incorporate new technologies and optimize patient flow.

Phase 1 of this project involved approximately 26,000 SF of a new office and lobby, and renovation of a portion of the existing 300,000 SF building.  The program for the addition included new conference rooms, offices, break areas and a relocation/renovation of an intensive care unit.

Exterior improvements involved a central courtyard and memorial gardens, as well as a number of other site and landscape improvements.  Phase 2 involved the renovation of the remainder of the existing building.

Per LEED™ and OSU requirements, Osborn commissioned the HVAC (and associated controls), Lighting and Lighting Controls and Domestic Hot Water systems.

LEED™ NC v2009 Silver Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council is the minimum goal for this project.
