Health & Wellness Center

Fairfield Medical Center | Lancaster , Ohio

Osborn Engineering provided Civil, Structural, MEP, Fire Protection, and Technology engineering for this health and wellness center in Lancaster, OH. The Fairfield Medical Center complex offers a 24/7 emergency department, health and wellness, outpatient therapy and sports clinic services, cardiac rehab, diagnostic, rehabilitative, laboratory and women’s services, a retail pharmacy, and childcare.

The combination of these services in one location creates a hub for the community and its healthcare needs. Regarding rehabilitation, the building allots approximately 25,000 SF to medical fitness and 11,000 SF to physical therapy and occupational therapy, including a physical therapy pool. Continuing the medical fitness theme, the center provides a health club to the public that offers services that include exercise, yoga, kick boxing, swimming, sauna, pool, weights, and personal training. The goal of this state-of-the-art facility is to provide a true-outpatient healthcare destination.

Osborn also provided engineering services for roadway widening to install dedicated right and left turn lanes at the Old US Route 33 and the new Fairfield Medical Center Drive. Osborn worked in close coordination with Boldt Development and the City of Lancaster Engineering Department.

As part of this project, a new traffic signal was designed including mast arms, lighting, video detection, pavement markings and an interconnect to Ety Road to the west.  The existing limited access roadway consisted of two lanes each in the westbound and eastbound directions and a dedicated left and right turn lane was added to the project.  Several utility meetings were held to coordinate work.
