Water / Wastewater Utility Connections

Ohio Department of Natural Resources | Ohio

Osborn Engineering is providing water resources, civil, structural, and electrical design services for the Ohio Department of Natural Resources for water / wastewater utility connections for three separate locations in Ohio.

South Bass Island: South Bass Island State Park is located in Ottawa County on South Bass Island in Lake Erie. The existing wastewater treatment is a 20,000 GPD extended aeration plant and has average daily flows of approximately 10,000 GPD. Osborn is working on design to abandon the existing wastewater treatment system and construct sanitary connection to the Village of Put-In-Bay sanitary system. The sanitary connection will include construction of a city operated pump station(s) and extending gravity sewers.

Zanesville State Nursery: Zanesville State Nursery is located in Muskingum County at 5880 Memory Road, Zanesville, Ohio 43701. There is one small unclassified Public Water System with 3 wells serving the facility. Since the existing system is not capable of providing quantity of water necessary for nursery operation, a connection to the Muskingum County water distribution system is proposed. Osborn is designing a 1.5-mile long waterline extension.

Guilford Lake State Park: Guilford Lake State Park is located in Columbiana County at 6835 East Lake Road, Lisbon, Ohio 44432. Guilford lake offers camping of approximately 40 sites and other recreational activities. Osborn is looking at possibility of removing the existing small unclassified Public Water Systems at the campground and extending the City of Salem waterline to the site. The proposed waterline would be approximately 2 miles long and will go under Salem’s water reservoir.
